Need a payday loan in Michigan?

Fresh Hope Financial is a loan-request service, not a Michigan lender. We have not verified a product available through this site. Michigan's deferred-presentment rules have a tiered service fee and specific repayment-help conditions; those are not a promise of eligibility or a Fresh Hope price.

Payday loan service-fee tiers

Michigan's published tiers decline from 15% on the first $100 to 14%,13% and 12% on the next three $100 portions, then 11% on each of the final two. That produces the state's $76 service-fee example on $600.

For an illustrative $250 advance, the service-fee calculation is $15+$14+$6.50=$35.50. Adding principal gives $285.50 before any separately permitted charge. This is arithmetic from the statutory service-fee schedule, not a provider quote or a statement that no other lawful charge can apply.

Multiple loans and repayment dates

The official consumer guidance permits at most two payday loans at once and no more than one from the same lender. A combined balance can therefore matter more to your budget than the size of one advance.

Write the due date and total for each outstanding agreement on a single calendar. If both fall near rent, a smaller new advance may still create an unmanageable combined debit. The legal transaction count is not an affordability recommendation.

Extensions and installment plans

The Attorney General says an extension is up to the lender, cannot add an extension fee or increase the original balance, and cannot take the period beyond 31 days from origination. Do not assume an informal extension means several months.

The official page separately describes an installment plan for qualifying customers with eight or more payday transactions in 12 months who cannot repay the current loan. That plan has its own conditions and charge. Ask DIFS to verify eligibility and the current authorized plan charge rather than relying on an old dollar figure.

Check whether an alternative accepts applications

A local alternative may appear useful in a search result while its intake has closed. One Detroit Credit Union's MyPay Today page states that new applications ended October 15, 2026, even though it still explains the former product.

This is not an endorsement or a Fresh Hope partner listing. It is a practical reason to check the provider's current application notice before spending time gathering documents. Existing-account servicing information can remain online after new lending stops.

Check a Michigan lender through DIFS

Michigan's guidance identifies DIFS as the licensing authority for covered providers, with exceptions such as chartered banks and credit unions. Match the agreement's company and activity with the official record instead of assuming an online cash-advance advertisement is authorized.

Keep the fee disclosure, transaction history and repayment-help request. If you cannot determine how many payday transactions were recorded in the relevant period, ask the regulator about verification rather than guessing from memory.

Combined repayments and alternatives

Suppose two assumed obligations require $285.50 and $226 during the same income period. Their combined demand is $511.50. That total, not the fact that either advance looks small, is the amount to compare with money available after necessities.

The second figure is hypothetical and not a Michigan fee quote. If the calendar fails, speak with the biller or existing creditor about a workable schedule and use the applicable Michigan repayment-help route. Do not treat another application as the only next step.

General borrowing checklist

Confirm availability in Michigan

Ask the lender whether the specific product is available at your address in Michigan. A general loan label or a state-guide page does not establish availability.

Fresh Hope Financial is a loan-request service. Submitting a request does not guarantee an offer, approval or funding.

Compare the complete borrowing cost

Read APR, fees, total repayment and every due date in any actual offer. Do not infer the cost from the name of a product or from a single payment.

Check the repayment arrangement

A payday loan often has one due date, while an installment loan has multiple scheduled payments. Cash advance is a broad label; ask which repayment arrangement the lender means.

Verify the lender’s identity

Identify the lender and check the authorization relevant to the product and your location. State requirements and permitted products can differ; verify the current position before accepting an offer.

Read the form before submitting

Review the consent and privacy information, check what information is requested and ask about credit inquiries and payment collection.

Consider alternatives to borrowing

A payment arrangement, a bank or credit-union option, or trusted personal or community help may be worth exploring. Check the costs and conditions of each option before deciding.

Questions about borrowing in Michigan

Is 15% the service fee on every Michigan payday amount?

No. The published schedule applies different percentages to successive $100 portions. Use the tiered calculation and read the disclosure for any separate permitted charge.

Can I have two payday loans from the same company?

The official consumer guidance says no more than one at the same lender, even though it describes up to two open transactions overall.

Is a lender required to extend my due date?

The Attorney General describes an ordinary extension as discretionary. It is different from the conditional installment-plan process for qualifying repeat borrowers.

Can I still apply for MyPay Today at One Detroit?

Its own notice says new applications ended October 15, 2026. Do not interpret the surviving descriptive page as current availability.

Where should I ask about payment-plan eligibility?

Start with Michigan DIFS and the official consumer guidance, using your recorded transaction history and the lender's legal name.

Does this page confirm that a loan is available in Michigan?

No. Ask the lender about the exact product and your address. This guide explains questions to check; it does not confirm product availability.

Where do I find the actual costs?

Read the amount, APR, fees, total repayment and payment schedule in the lender’s actual offer before deciding.
